Frequent Questions

Can I find Superfund research, reports, and studies online?

Superfund is required by the Freedom of Information Act to make all of its research and reports available to the public. The most commonly requested information is available online for your convenience. If you seek reference materials, Superfund guidance reports, annual reports, or other general Superfund information or reference materials, you can access them through the Documents section of our Web site.

The Reports & Downloadable Files section contains information about the status of all Superfund hazardous waste cleanup sites from the Preliminary Assessment (PA) stage through deletion from the National Priorities List (NPL).

To obtain studies and reports on a specific Superfund site, contact the EPA Regional Office that is responsible for the site. If the site is on the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL), EPA established a site repository in the local community (generally at the library or city hall). To locate the information repository, contact the EPA Community Involvement Coordinator or review the NPL Fact Sheet for the site.
